Berlin has already hosted 14 New Year’s Eve parties!
1995 saw the first, large official New Year’s Eve event in Berlin.
It developed into the world’s largest open-air New Year’s Eve party in the years that followed with people peacefully and happily joining in the celebrations to mark the turn of the year in a unique atmosphere. The combination of music, light, stage shows, international stars, DJ towers, dance floors, not to mention the spectacular fireworks is what makes these New Year’s Eve celebrations the night of nights.
New Year’s Eve in Berlin has long been synonymous with an international, glittering and fun party with international guests. The 2007/2008 turn of the year was no exception. One million visitors celebrated throughout the night, enjoying the countless forms of entertainment between the Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate as well as the spectacular light effects created by the magnificent fireworks display.

It’s unique to Berlin, there’s not even anything like it at Times Square in New York. With the area around the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin has found its stage, a stage where it celebrates itself.

There needs to be a continuation of this invaluable end 2003/beginning 2004 PR success. Above all, given the fact that it took place without any public money.
